Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**OVax** is an investigational personalized therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by AVAX Technologies for relapsed advanced ovarian cancer. It is manufactured from a patient's own surgically obtained ovarian tumor cells, which are modified with the hapten 2,4-dinitrophenol to increase immunogenicity. The intended mechanism is induction of cellular antitumor immunity, including cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses against patient-specific ovarian tumor antigens. OVax was evaluated in a Phase 1/2 study in patients with relapsed stage III or IV ovarian carcinoma, including platinum-resistant disease.
