A cell-based therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of a patient's own (autologous) tumor cells fused with their own Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-transformed B-lymphoblastoid cells. The resulting hybrid cells combine the antigen-presenting capabilities of EBV-transformed B-lymphoblastoid cells with the full spectrum of tumor-associated antigens from the patient’s tumor. Upon administration, this vaccine is designed to stimulate a robust immune response—particularly T-cell mediated immunity—against the patient’s cancer by presenting both viral and tumor antigens to the immune system, thereby enhancing recognition and destruction of malignant cells[7]. This approach leverages both cellular immunotherapy and personalized medicine principles.
