Autologous hair follicle-derived secretome (aHFS) is a personalized regenerative therapy developed by Acorn Biolabs. It is produced by plucking a patient's own hair follicles, which contain a rich population of mesenchymal and epithelial stem cells. These cells are cultured ex vivo to produce a conditioned medium containing a complex mixture of growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles (the secretome). This secretome is then harvested and used as a therapeutic agent. The product is being investigated for aesthetic and dermatological applications, including facial rejuvenation, the treatment of androgenic alopecia, and as a post-procedure topical to accelerate healing after laser therapy. By using an autologous source, the therapy aims to provide a biocompatible profile with reduced risk of immunogenic reactions.
