Autologous human mesenchymal cells refer to multipotent stromal (stem) cells that are isolated from a patient's own tissues—most commonly bone marrow or adipose tissue—and expanded in vitro for therapeutic use. These cells can differentiate into various cell types including osteoblasts (bone), chondrocytes (cartilage), myocytes (muscle), and adipocytes (fat). Their primary mechanism of action is believed to be the modulation of immune responses and secretion of trophic factors that promote tissue repair and regeneration. Autologous use minimizes the risk of immune rejection or graft-versus-host disease. Clinical applications under investigation include treatment for Crohn’s disease-related fistulas, multiple sclerosis, degenerative disc disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), osteoarthritis, infertility, and other conditions involving tissue damage or inflammation[3][4][5][6][7].
