Autologous MESO CAR NK cells are an investigational cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells derived from the patient and genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting mesothelin (MESO). Mesothelin is a cell-surface glycoprotein highly expressed in various solid tumors, including epithelial ovarian carcinoma, while maintaining low expression in normal tissues. This therapy combines the innate anti-tumor activity of NK cells with the antigen-specific targeting provided by the CAR construct. It is currently being investigated in early-phase clinical trials for patients with refractory epithelial ovarian carcinoma who have failed or relapsed after standard therapies.
