Overview

KSD-101 is an investigational autologous dendritic cell (DC) vaccine developed by Tongji Hospital for the treatment of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated malignancies, including haematologic neoplasms, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and lymphomas. The therapy is produced by deriving dendritic cells from a patient's own monocytes and pulsing them with lysates from EBV-transformed B-lymphoblastoid cell lines (B-LCL). These lysates provide a broad spectrum of EBV-specific antigens, which the dendritic cells present to the patient's immune system. The primary mechanism of action is the activation and expansion of EBV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that can specifically recognize and eliminate EBV-infected tumor cells. Early clinical results have shown high response rates in patients with relapsed or refractory EBV-associated diseases.
