PV-001-DC is a cell-based cancer vaccine composed of autologous, monocyte-derived dendritic cells (mDCs) that are pulsed with tumor cell lysate containing tumor-associated antigens. This approach aims to stimulate the immune system by presenting these antigens to T cells, thereby inducing an anti-tumor immune response. The therapy is being developed primarily for advanced melanoma and is administered intravenously in clinical trials. The mechanism involves immunostimulatory and antineoplastic activities through activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and helper T cells via antigen presentation by mature dendritic cells[1][3][4][8]. PrimeVax Immuno-Oncology is the primary developer.
