Autologous monocytes are a form of cell therapy in which monocytes, a type of white blood cell, are collected from an individual and then re-administered to the same person. Monocytes play key roles in the innate immune system, including phagocytosis, antigen presentation, cytokine secretion, and differentiation into macrophages or dendritic cells.
