Overview

Autologous nano-platelet is a blood-derived therapeutic product developed by the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. It consists of nano-sized platelet components or vesicles derived from the patient's own blood. The therapy is designed to promote tissue repair and regeneration in refractory wounds, such as leg ulcers and skin degloving injuries, by delivering a concentrated payload of platelet-derived growth factors and cytokines. It is typically administered via local injection or as a gel formulation to the site of injury. The "nano-sized" nature of the preparation is intended to enhance the bioavailability and penetration of bioactive factors into the wound bed compared to traditional platelet-rich plasma (PRP) preparations.
