autologous NK cells + nimotuzumab is an investigational combination immunotherapy being developed by Hangzhou Cancer Hospital for the treatment of advanced, recurrent, or metastatic cancers. The therapy involves the adoptive transfer of a patient's own natural killer (NK) cells in combination with nimotuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Nimotuzumab binds to EGFR-expressing tumor cells, while the infused NK cells, which express the activating Fc receptor CD16a, recognize the antibody-coated cells and initiate antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). This dual approach aims to enhance the innate anti-tumor activity of NK cells through targeted antibody-mediated recruitment and direct tumor cell lysis, potentially overcoming immune evasion in EGFR-positive malignancies.
