autologous platelet gel (National Healing Corporation)

Autologous platelet gel is an investigational topical, autologous blood-derived biologic developed by National Healing Corporation for lower-extremity chronic venous insufficiency ulcers. The point-of-care product combines a patient-derived autologous platelet concentrate with topical thrombin to generate a platelet gel applied directly to the ulcer in addition to standard venous-ulcer care. Platelets provide a localized mixture of wound-healing growth factors, cytokines, and matrix-associated mediators intended to support granulation tissue formation, angiogenesis, re-epithelialization, and tissue repair.
