Overview
Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) cream is a topical biological therapy developed by Acibadem University for the treatment of skin aging, including photoaging and chronological aging. The formulation consists of PRP, derived from the patient's own blood, incorporated into an oleaginous base. PRP contains a high concentration of platelets which, upon activation, release various growth factors such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β). These factors are intended to activate skin fibroblasts and stimulate the synthesis of collagen and other extracellular matrix components. The primary clinical focus has been on reducing morphological changes such as periorbital wrinkles, laxity, and elastosis.
