Overview

Autologous RAK cells are a cell-based immunotherapy consisting of a patient's own immune cells, primarily CD8+ T cells and natural killer T (NKT) cells, which are expanded ex vivo and administered via intravenous infusion. Developed by Puhua Saier Biomedical Technology in collaboration with TaKaRa Biomedical Technology, this adoptive cellular immunotherapy leverages the cytotoxic activity of these expanded cells to target and eliminate tumor cells. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly in patients who have failed prior systemic therapies such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and VEGF tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
