Overview

The autologous RNA-loaded dendritic cell vaccine is an investigational, patient-specific immunotherapy developed by Radboud University Medical Center (Radboud UMC) for the treatment of multiple myeloma. This cell-based biologic involves harvesting a patient's own peripheral blood monocytes, differentiating them into dendritic cells, and loading them with tumor-derived RNA that encodes myeloma-associated antigens. The resulting vaccine is administered via intravenous and intradermal routes to stimulate a T-cell mediated immune response against myeloma cells. Clinical evaluation has focused on safety, immune activation, and the reduction of minimal residual disease (MRD) in patients with multiple myeloma.
