Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This autologous cell therapy consists of adult fibroblasts derived from the patient's own skin, which are expanded ex vivo under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions. Developed by the Andalusian Network for Design and Translation of Advanced Therapies (Red Andaluza de Diseño y Traslación de Terapias Avanzadas), the treatment is designed to facilitate the reconstruction of skin defects following Mohs micrographic surgery, particularly in patients with basal cell carcinoma. The expanded fibroblasts are applied to the wound site to promote tissue regeneration, accelerate healing, and improve aesthetic outcomes by synthesizing essential extracellular matrix components like collagen and elastin and secreting various cytokines and growth factors that modulate the wound environment.
