This combination therapy involves the use of a patient's own (autologous) stem cells—typically mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) or adipose tissue—in conjunction with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PRP acts as a bioactive scaffold and a source of concentrated growth factors, including platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which stimulate the proliferation, migration, and differentiation of the co-administered stem cells. The stem cells provide a reservoir of regenerative cells capable of tissue repair, extracellular matrix synthesis, and immunomodulation. This synergistic approach is widely investigated in regenerative medicine for orthopedic conditions such as osteoarthritis and tendon injuries, as well as in wound healing and aesthetic medicine, aiming to accelerate tissue repair and modulate the inflammatory environment.
