Overview

This is an investigational autologous cell therapy being developed by Fuzhou General Hospital for kidney transplant recipients. The therapy involves the extraction of the stromal vascular fraction (SVF) from a patient's own adipose tissue, which is then cultured to isolate and expand mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). These autologous MSCs are infused into the recipient during the kidney transplant operation and at subsequent intervals (postoperative days 7, 14, and 21). The primary therapeutic objective is to utilize the immunomodulatory properties of MSCs to reduce the incidence of acute rejection, improve allograft function, and potentially decrease the long-term requirement for standard immunosuppressive medications in living-related kidney transplant recipients.
