Autologous Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) is a cellular concentrate derived from a patient's own adipose tissue, containing a heterogeneous population of cells including adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), endothelial progenitor cells, pericytes, and various immune cells. Developed by Antria for the treatment of facial atrophy, this therapy involves supplementing standard autologous fat grafts with SVF prior to injection. The mechanism of action relies on the regenerative properties of the SVF cells, which enhance the survival and volume retention of the fat graft by promoting rapid neovascularization (angiogenesis), reducing inflammation-mediated cell death, and providing a source of progenitor cells that can differentiate into mature adipocytes. This approach, often termed cell-assisted lipotransfer, aims to provide more predictable and long-lasting aesthetic results compared to conventional fat grafting.
