Autologous stromal vascular fraction-enriched lipoaspirate is an investigational cell-based therapy primarily studied for the treatment of vulvar lichen sclerosus (LS). The therapy involves harvesting a patient's own adipose tissue via liposuction, processing it to isolate the stromal vascular fraction (SVF)—a heterogeneous cell population including adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs), endothelial cells, and pericytes—and then enriching the lipoaspirate with this SVF before local injection. The therapeutic effect is mediated through the paracrine secretion of growth factors and cytokines by the injected cells, which exert immunomodulatory, pro-angiogenic, and anti-fibrotic effects to improve tissue quality and reduce inflammation in the vulvar region.
