Autologous T-cell immunotherapy is a cell-based therapy developed by Shanghai AbelZeta Ltd. (formerly Cellular Biomedicine Group) for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer. The therapy utilizes the patient's own T lymphocytes, specifically enriched for the central memory T cell (Tcm) phenotype, which are expanded ex vivo and re-infused. Tcm cells are characterized by their high proliferative capacity, long-term persistence, and ability to differentiate into potent effector T cells upon encountering tumor antigens. This treatment is typically evaluated as part of a multimodal regimen, combined with surgery and chemotherapy, to enhance the anti-tumor immune response and prevent recurrence in patients with advanced gastric malignancies.
