Autologous Tcm cells immunotherapy is an adoptive cell therapy developed by Beijing Friendship Hospital for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The therapy involves the isolation, ex vivo expansion, and re-infusion of a patient's own central memory T (Tcm) cells. Tcm cells are a specific subset of T lymphocytes characterized by the expression of markers such as CD45RO and CD62L, which confer longevity, high proliferative potential, and the ability to differentiate into potent effector T cells upon re-encountering tumor antigens. By enriching for this specific T cell population, the therapy aims to provide a more durable and effective anti-tumor immune response compared to traditional bulk T cell infusions. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials as a postoperative treatment to prevent recurrence in high-risk stage II NSCLC patients who have completed chemotherapy.
