**Autologous tumor cell vaccine-Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian-melanoma** is an individualized whole-tumor-cell cancer vaccine developed at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian for metastatic melanoma. It consists of irradiated melanoma cells expanded from a short-term tumor-cell line established using each patient's own metastatic melanoma tissue. The irradiated cells retain a patient-specific repertoire of melanoma tumor-associated antigens and are administered by subcutaneous injection to promote active antitumor immune responses. In the MAC-VAC randomized Phase II study, the vaccine was administered with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor as an immune adjuvant and compared with the autologous dendritic-cell vaccine melapuldencel-T.
