Overview

C-TIL051 is an autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy developed for the treatment of solid tumors, primarily non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The therapy involves isolating immune cells (TILs) from a patient's surgically resected tumor, expanding them ex vivo, and then infusing them back into the patient. This approach aims to enhance the body's immune response against cancer by increasing the number of cytotoxic T cells that can recognize and destroy tumor cells. The mechanism of action is based on immunologic cytotoxicity and T lymphocyte replacement. Developed initially by Cellular Biomedicine Group (now AbelZeta Pharma), C-TIL051 is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for NSCLC, including squamous subtypes and refractory/metastatic disease. It has also been considered for other solid tumors such as head and neck cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, and colorectal cancer[1][2][3][4][5][7].
