This autologous dendritic cell vaccine is an investigational immunotherapy developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory sarcoma. The vaccine is produced by collecting a patient's own monocytes through leukapheresis, which are then differentiated ex vivo into monocyte-derived dendritic cells (moDCs). These cells are subsequently pulsed with a lysate derived from the patient's own tumor tissue, allowing the dendritic cells to process and present a personalized array of tumor-associated antigens. When administered back to the patient, typically via intradermal injection, these antigen-presenting cells are designed to activate a robust T-cell-mediated immune response against the specific molecular profile of the patient's tumor. In clinical studies (such as NCT01803152), this vaccine is often evaluated in combination with the TLR7 agonist imiquimod, which acts as a local adjuvant, and the chemotherapy agent gemcitabine to enhance the overall anti-tumor effect.
