Overview

Autologous tumor lysate vaccine is an individualized therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by Dartmouth Health for newly diagnosed glioblastoma. It is prepared from each patient's surgically resected tumor cells, which are irradiated and freeze-fractured to create a lysate containing a broad, patient-specific repertoire of glioblastoma-associated antigens. In the registered study, lysate equivalent to 1 × 10^7 tumor cells was emulsified with Montanide ISA 51 VG and administered intradermally; the study was designed to generate vaccine-draining lymph-node hybridomas producing glioblastoma-specific antibodies rather than to establish clinical efficacy.
