Overview

Autologous Tumor Membrane Vesicles Vaccine is a personalized cancer immunotherapy that utilizes nano-sized vesicles derived from a patient's own (autologous) tumor tissue. These vesicles are produced by homogenizing and sonicating resected primary tumors to yield high concentrations of membrane-bound antigens while excluding nuclear autoantigens. The resulting nanovesicles are highly enriched in tumor-associated antigens and can be combined with adjuvants to activate dendritic cells and stimulate robust anti-tumor immune responses. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that vaccination with these autologous nanovesicles induces effective immune activation against both primary and metastatic tumors in animal models, particularly melanoma. This approach offers a cell-free, patient-specific source of cancer antigens for therapeutic vaccination without the risks associated with whole-cell vaccines or exosome-based approaches limited by low yield[4]. The strategy is cost-effective, versatile across different cancer types (as long as sufficient tumor tissue can be obtained), and designed to enhance safety by avoiding nuclear material[4].
