Overview

ADSVF (Adipose-Derived Stromal Vascular Fraction) is an autologous, uncultured cell-based therapy being developed by Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris for the treatment of inclusion body myositis (IBM). The therapy consists of a heterogeneous population of cells, including mesenchymal stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, and immune cells, obtained from the patient's own adipose tissue via liposuction and isolated through centrifugation. It is administered via intramuscular injection into affected muscles, such as the finger flexors. ADSVF exerts its therapeutic effects through multiple mechanisms, including the promotion of angiogenesis, immunomodulation, anti-inflammatory signaling, and tissue regeneration, aiming to repair diseased muscle tissue in IBM patients.
