Auxora

Auxora is a small molecule inhibitor of Orai1-containing calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channels. It is being developed for the treatment of acute inflammatory and immunologic conditions, including acute pancreatitis (AP) with systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), severe acute kidney injury (AKI) with associated acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF), and has also been studied in severe COVID-19 pneumonia. By inhibiting CRAC channels, Auxora modulates intracellular calcium signaling in immune cells, thereby reducing inflammation and organ damage. Clinical studies have shown that Auxora can reduce time to solid food tolerance in AP patients, decrease the incidence of severe organ failure, shorten hospital stays, and improve glomerular filtration rate in AKI models[1][4][5][7].
