Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AV078 is a central nervous system-penetrant, selective inhibitor of mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1), currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of epilepsy associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). It is a small molecule drug designed to modulate the mTORC1 pathway, which plays a critical role in cell growth and proliferation. AV078 aims to provide improved efficacy and safety compared to existing mTOR inhibitors by selectively targeting mTORC1. The drug is being developed by Aeovian Pharmaceuticals[1][2][3][5][7].
