AV5080

AV5080 is a novel, orally administered small molecule drug candidate under preclinical development for the treatment of influenza. It acts as a highly potent inhibitor of influenza virus neuraminidase and demonstrates strong in vitro activity against both influenza A and B viruses, including strains resistant to oseltamivir. AV5080 has shown picomolar inhibitory concentrations against neuraminidase from various subtypes (e.g., H5N1 and H1N1), with efficacy similar to or better than oseltamivir in animal models. The compound remains stable in plasma across species and exhibits no signs of genotoxicity or cardiotoxicity in safety studies.
