Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AV805 is a central nervous system (CNS)-penetrant, selective small molecule inhibitor of mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). Developed by Aeovian Pharmaceuticals, it is designed to address neurodegenerative diseases and genetic disorders characterized by excessive mTORC1 activation. Unlike many other mTOR inhibitors, AV805 is specifically engineered to cross the blood-brain barrier, distinguishing it from Aeovian's peripheral-targeting compounds. The drug is currently in IND-enabling studies, targeting biological aging and related neurological conditions.
