AVAR1901CN is a bispecific chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy being co-developed by Avalon GloboCare and Arbele Limited. It is designed to simultaneously target two antigens, CD19 and CD22, which are commonly expressed on the surface of B-cell malignancies. By targeting two antigens instead of one, the therapy aims to overcome antigen escape—a common mechanism of resistance in single-target CAR-T therapies—thereby potentially improving efficacy and reducing the risk of relapse in patients with B-cell cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma. The therapy recently received a notice of allowance for a patent from the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
