AVAT-022 is a water-soluble, oral powder formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) developed by Avata Biosciences as an alternative route of administration for children and others who have difficulty swallowing capsules. It is part of Avata's next-generation cannabinoid medicine pipeline targeting neurological and psychiatric disorders, including epilepsy (adult and pediatric focal epilepsy) and schizophrenia. The drug aims to address unmet needs in these populations by providing a more accessible CBD therapy option. Development includes partnerships with Oceanus Bio for Asian markets (excluding China and India), where Oceanus will lead regulatory engagement and clinical development[1][2][10].
