Overview

JY40 is a generic small molecule thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA) developed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Genetic Biopharmaceutical. It is a generic version of avatrombopag maleate, intended for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in patients with chronic liver disease who are scheduled to undergo a medical or dental procedure. The drug acts by binding to the transmembrane domain of the thrombopoietin receptor (MPL) on megakaryocytes and their precursors, stimulating their proliferation and differentiation into platelets. This mechanism mimics the effect of endogenous thrombopoietin but does not compete with it for binding, leading to an increase in platelet counts without the risk of immunogenicity associated with recombinant TPO.
