Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AVB-002 is an allogeneic encapsulated cell therapy being developed by Avenge Bio for the treatment of solid tumors, with a primary focus on pancreatic cancer and peritoneal malignancies. Utilizing the proprietary LOCOcyte™ platform, the therapy consists of allogeneic cells engineered to secrete native human interleukin-12 (IL-12) directly into the local tumor environment. This localized delivery is designed to generate high concentrations of immune effector molecules in proximity to the tumor, thereby activating a robust anti-tumor immune response while avoiding the severe systemic toxicities typically associated with systemic IL-12 administration. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
