Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AVCP (crude polysaccharides from abalone viscera) is a natural extract being investigated for its hypolipidemic and anti-atherogenic properties. Studies have shown that AVCP can significantly reduce total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in plasma. Additionally, it has been observed to increase superoxide dismutase activities and prevent the formation of lipid droplets and disordered liver structure, suggesting a role in combating oxidative stress and liver damage associated with hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis.
