avdoralimab

Avdoralimab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits the complement C5a receptor 1 (C5aR1) expressed on myeloid-derived suppressor cells and neutrophils. By blocking the binding of C5a to its receptor, avdoralimab reduces activation of these immune cells, thereby limiting pro-inflammatory cytokine release, neutrophil recruitment, and tissue damage in inflammatory conditions. It was developed for potential use in cancer immunotherapy, autoimmune diseases such as bullous pemphigoid and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as severe COVID-19 pneumonia. The drug was originally developed by Novo Nordisk and later co-developed by Innate Pharma and AstraZeneca[1][3][4][6].
