Aveeno Eczema Therapy Nighttime Moisturizing Balm is an over-the-counter topical skin protectant developed by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. for the management of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema). The formulation contains 1% colloidal oatmeal as its active ingredient, which works by forming a physical barrier on the skin surface, increasing hydration of the stratum corneum, and reducing transepidermal water loss.
