Overview
Avene Xeracalm balm is a topical lipid-replenishing and moisturizing balm formulated to nourish, soothe, and calm very dry skin prone to atopic dermatitis (eczema), irritation, redness, and itching. It is suitable for all ages including newborns. The product contains key ingredients such as Avène Thermal Spring Water (soothing), I-Modulia complex (reduces itching and inflammation), Cer-Omega lipids (restore the skin barrier), mineral oil (emollient), glycerin (humectant), evening primrose oil (anti-inflammatory/emollient), vitamin E/tocopherol (antioxidant/soothing) and other emollients. The mechanism of action is primarily physical—restoring the skin barrier function by replenishing lipids and reducing transepidermal water loss while providing anti-inflammatory effects through specific actives like I-Modulia. It does not contain fragrances or preservatives due to its sterile packaging process[2][3][4][5][6][9].
