Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aviax Plus is a veterinary anticoccidial drug developed and marketed by Phibro Animal Health for the prevention and control of coccidiosis in broiler chickens. It is a unique combination product containing two active ingredients: semduramicin, a polyether ionophore, and nicarbazin, a chemical anticoccidial. These components are co-formulated into a single granule to ensure uniform distribution in feed and consistent dosing. The product provides broad-spectrum efficacy against all six major *Eimeria* species (*E. acervulina*, *E. maxima*, *E. tenella*, *E. necatrix*, *E. brunetti*, and *E. mitis*). By utilizing two distinct mechanisms of action—disruption of osmotic balance via ion transport and interference with energy metabolism—Aviax Plus effectively manages parasite loads and helps mitigate the development of resistance.
