Overview

Avicin D is a natural triterpenoid saponin isolated from plants such as Archidendron ellipticum and Acacia victoriae. It has demonstrated anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties in preclinical studies. Mechanistically, Avicin D acts as a selective glucocorticoid receptor (GR) modulator and induces apoptosis in various tumor cell lines by downregulating phosphorylated STAT3 (p-STAT3), bcl-2, and survivin proteins. It also inhibits NF-κB activation in a GR-dependent manner and suppresses GRE-mediated gene expression. Preclinical data suggest potential therapeutic applications for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), Sézary syndrome, multiple myeloma, and other cancers[3][4][5][9].
