Overview

AVID-317 is a capsid-modified oncolytic adenovirus developed by AdCure Bio for the systemic treatment of metastatic and disseminated cancers, including lung adenocarcinoma. Engineered for intravenous administration, AVID-317 features an enhanced safety profile and is designed to selectively infect and lyse tumor cells, thereby releasing tumor antigens and stimulating a pro-inflammatory immune response. Preclinical research presented at ASGCT 2026 indicates that while AVID-317 monotherapy can induce tumor clearance, it also triggers a "reparative call" in the tumor microenvironment—a pro-tumorigenic signaling pathway involving IL-33 and myeloid cell activation. Consequently, AVID-317 is being explored in combination with innate and adaptive immune modulators, such as anti-ST2, anti-CSF1R, and anti-PD-1 antibodies, to overcome resistance and improve therapeutic outcomes in metastatic settings.
