AVID100

AVID100 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to target the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on cancer cells. It consists of a monoclonal antibody that binds both wild-type and mutant forms of EGFR, linked to the cytotoxic agent DM1 (a maytansinoid tubulin inhibitor). Upon binding to EGFR-expressing tumor cells, AVID100 is internalized, and the DM1 payload disrupts microtubule assembly by binding tubulin, leading to inhibition of cell division and proliferation. This mechanism allows selective cytotoxicity against EGFR-overexpressing cancer cells while sparing normal tissues. The drug was developed for cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), squamous cell carcinoma, and triple negative breast cancer—especially in tumors resistant to existing anti-EGFR therapies.
