Avidekel

Avidekel is a high-CBD, low-THC cannabis strain developed by Tikun Olam, primarily for medical use. It is an indica-dominant hybrid (reported as both 80% indica/20% sativa and sativa-dominant in some sources) bred to contain very high levels of cannabidiol (CBD), often reaching up to 15–18%, with almost no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), typically around or below 1%. This unique cannabinoid profile allows patients to benefit from the therapeutic effects of CBD without experiencing the psychoactive effects associated with THC. The mechanism of action involves modulation of the endocannabinoid system, particularly through agonism at cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 by CBD, which has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, and neuroprotective properties.
