Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AviPhage is a bacteriophage-based solution developed by Cytophage Technologies for the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections in poultry, specifically targeting *Salmonella* and *Escherichia coli*. As a member of the FarmPhage™ product line, it functions through phage-mediated bacterial lysis, where specific viruses infect and destroy pathogenic bacteria without affecting the bird's natural microbiota. Marketed as a water-soluble antibiotic replacement, AviPhage has demonstrated the ability to promote gut health, improve feed conversion ratios, and significantly reduce poultry mortality in field trials. It is designed for easy application by adding to the birds' daily water supply starting from day one.
