Overview
Avishield IB H120 is a live attenuated veterinary vaccine containing avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), Massachusetts serotype, strain H-120, formulated as a lyophilisate for reconstitution and administration to chickens via oculonasal routes, coarse spray, or drinking water. It is used for active immunisation of broilers, breeders and layers to reduce the detrimental effects of infection with Massachusetts-type IBV on tracheal ciliary activity, which clinically manifests as respiratory disease, with onset of immunity about three weeks after vaccination and protection lasting approximately eight weeks. The product is part of Dechra’s Avishield poultry vaccine range, originally developed and manufactured by Genera (part of Dechra), and is authorised in the EU and other markets for use from one day of age, including adult laying hens, with a zero-day withdrawal period for meat and eggs.
