AVN-3205 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug candidate developed by Avineuro Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) diseases and neurological disorders. It functions as a modulator of the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 6 (5-HT6), a G protein-coupled receptor primarily expressed in the brain and involved in cognitive processes. AVN-3205 was identified as a backup compound within Avineuro's serotonin receptor-targeting portfolio, selected for its excellent drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology (DMPK/tox) profiles, as well as its efficacy in behavioral models. While intended for conditions such as cognitive dysfunction, no recent development activity has been reported for the program since 2018.
