AVO-102 is an experimental in vivo CAR-T cell therapy being developed by AAVivo for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, specifically for patients who have relapsed after CD19- or BCMA-directed therapies. The therapy utilizes a targeted adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector, specifically the AAVTCeT capsid, to deliver a dual-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) transgene directly into T cells within the patient's body. This approach aims to generate CAR-T cells in vivo that can recognize and eliminate cancer cells expressing either CD19 or B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), potentially addressing antigen escape and improving outcomes in refractory B-cell cancers. AVO-102 is currently in preclinical development, focusing on construct optimization and functional characterization.
