Avotaciclib

Avotaciclib is an orally bioavailable, small molecule cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) inhibitor with potential antineoplastic activity. It functions by targeting and inhibiting the activity of CDK1, an ATP-dependent serine/threonine kinase frequently overexpressed in tumor cells that plays a crucial role in regulating cell division and cell cycle progression. This inhibition can lead to cell cycle arrest, induction of apoptosis, and suppression of cancer stem cell division, ultimately inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. Avotaciclib is currently under investigation for various cancers, including pancreatic cancer, metastatic colorectal cancer, and glioblastoma multiforme.
