Overview

AVP04-UPenn is a preclinical antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) being developed by Avipep in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. The drug utilizes Avipep's proprietary "Avibody" technology, which consists of high-affinity, small-format antibody fragments, specifically a diabody (scFv dimer). AVP04 is derived from the CC49 monoclonal antibody and targets Tumor-Associated Glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72), a cell-surface antigen highly expressed in various solid tumors, including colorectal, ovarian, and prostate cancers. The AVP04-UPenn program is positioned within the immunotherapy space, leveraging the diabody's rapid tumor penetration and clearance characteristics to deliver a cytotoxic payload specifically to TAG-72-expressing malignant cells while minimizing systemic exposure.
